Hi SW

Apologies if you already know, the NSW BDM is online at www.bdm.nsw.gov.au. The marriage of Clara is shown - 1927. Births are only shown to 1905 & deaths/marriages to 1945. There are a number of deaths for Samuel Johnsons within this period(Your samuel may have lived much longer). I didn't look for anyone else.

Death certificates in Australia contain parent, spouse and often children information (often only numbers of children not names). Certificates after 1945 are available but there are no online indexes.

The other way to obtain family details is via access to wills. Check this for NSW  http://www.shoalhaven.net.au/~cathyd/wills.html (note the reference to NSW Archives - http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/
The NSW library has indexes available on Cemetries - they provide a service for people not able to visit the library
http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/family/
There is an index of Deaths in Sydney papers (from 1974) at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~nswsdps/dpsindex.htm

Most of this information is easily found via google advanced searches. Use some of your keywords(and .au for the domain) and you will find many more sites to assist your search.
