Hiya!

I'm not form around there, but I found this address:

Carnegie Library (South Ayrshire Council)
Local History Library
12 Main Street
Ayr
KA8 8ED
Tel: 01292 286385   (The UK's country code is '44' , then drop the first '0')
Fax: 01292 611593
Email: Jcastle at south-ayrshire.gov.uk (replace the 'at' with @)
or Email: carnegie at south-ayrshire.gov.uk (again, replace the 'at' with @)
I believe the contact name there is Jeanette Castle

I'm sure that they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Also in AyrshireRoots.com have a look at this too:

General Register Office  for Scotland:
New Register House, Edinburgh EH1 3YT
Telephone 0131 334 0380
Fax 0131 314 4400

Also, the Genealogy section of the South Ayrshire Council:
http://www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/community/genealogy/index.htm
(has a link to the Registry Office in Ayr)
