Hi David

There is no central index for Beds christenings for this period.

Fortunately virtually all of Beds pre 1812 has been extracted onto the IGI - www.familysearch.org - so this is good as you are likely to get.

Could Dinah Pentelow have been her married name?

Regards

David

No she was a child
The date I'm looking fall with in 1802 & 1812 the parents were Jos & Fra on the Dean burial register.

Thank for info on the beds Christenings but this one seems to have been missed on the LDS unless she was born in Hunts or Northants areas.

Do you know whether there is a Northants christenings index for this period above because not many entries appear for this county on the LDS site.

Or perhaps they were non-conformists and their children weren't christened in the established church

David

I looked on the National Defence Muster lists of 1803 and found a Jeremy PENTELOW who was an unmarried labourer in that year in Dean [in North Bedfordshire]

Please see [for Muster list book]:
http://www.bedfordshirehrs.org.uk/

Same year:  there is also a married John PENTELOW in Wilden...

Not sure if that helps, but there it is...

Re: Jeremy Pentelow of Dean according to my inf he had one child under 10 at that time in 1803 as his wife died at Dean in 1802.

Or are we talking about another one here in your post ?

Am not sure...I expect if he had a young child he would have married soon as the people didn't have the 'luxury' of mourning spouses in those days.

Have you checked

Hi David (Deano)

There is not a Baptism Index for Northamptonshire.

The reason they are not covered in the I.G.I. is because the Bishop (Northants) would not
allow the Mormons access to the Records.

The Northamptonshire Family History Society has a Personal  Database Index though so
well worth a look at their web site.
