Hi there Exessex girl,
(Just like my Mum)

In your research of any Collins in the Lambeth area, did you by any chance come across an Elizabeth Ridgway Collins, daughter of George Henry Collins, dairyman (according to her marriage cert, when she married George Taylor Lanham, 25th Dec 1868, when she was 17, so born around 1851-1852.) She's proved very elusive, and can't track her before her marriage, afterwards is OK.

Her father might possibly be called George Henry Collins, but I haven't really followed that lead up yet, though I found it interesting that he was also a dairyman.

Jsu a shot in th e dark, reall. None of your other names are mine- at present. Wishing you luck in your research,

Marie Tièche, (nee Bridge)

Hello Marie. Sorry but I can't help you with this one. My collins's come from Hertfordshire, and so far I haven't found any who are dairymen. Most of them are agricultural labourers, and they moved from Herts towards London: Edmonton Hackney areas. Maybe your Elizabeth used a differnt christian name. so many of them did which makes it difficult. I expect you have used the IGI index. If she's out there, one of our Rootschatters will find her  ;D Good luck.  :) Lyn
