As part of my searches I have found a descendant of my great aunt. His name was Stanley Mann Barrell.
He was born in Islington in 1913, married in Solihull in 1942 when he was accountant in the Royay Artillery.
He died in Southend in 1976.

With help from Kev on the military look up section I have established that he was a liquidator in Southend. There is an article in the London Gazette 1973 giving his address as Metopolitan House, Victoria Av, Southend on Sea. I presume that this is a office address.

I would like to find his home address around this period, so that I can look at electoral registers and see if I can trace any family. So far I have been unsuccesful in that task through BMD records.

If anybody has access to Kelly's or Tel Directories around that time, perhaps he would be listed.

A complicated reqest but any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks Laurina. I did have his death ref. but was trying to avoid another £7. My family has been so elusive that I have recently spent a fortune on certs. In addition the death cert. does not always give a lot of info. I have been in contact with Southend library and they will look up for me but within 2 weeks.
