Thanks Sheila for your prompt reply but after consulting with my wife (her father) we are fairly certain that this is not him.
Thank you again, any information is welcome
Algy.

Hi again

Sorry it wasn't the correct one.  Do you have any info such as parents or siblings names which may help to identify him in 1901?

Hi Algy,

Have you looked on www.1837online.com for Thomas Rigby's marriage?

If you can get his marriage cert, that should give his father's name and occupation, it should hopefully also give Thomas's age, you could then look for his birth reg on 1837, then if you find his birth reg, and order his birth cert, it will have his mother's name and maiden name on that.

Best of luck

Jan

Hi Algy,

Ancestry are doing a free BMD look-up.  Did Thomas Rigby die in Warrington in 1950?  If so, this could be his death registration in the July-Sept Q

Rigby Thomas age 63 District Warrington Vol 10f page 543, so that makes him born about 1887.

Ancestry are also doing the 1901 census free at the moment too!

The best of luck

Hi! Jan. Your 1901 cencus result for Thomas has caused great interest in the household, I shall be sending for the marriage certificate to further the project again you have been most helpful.
All the best to you and Phil.
