Rayne Place Rayne Essex
« on: Saturday 18 September 04 10:49 BST (UK) »
My friend Jim Gepp is trying to find out more about Clemantine Mary Carrington Brewster who lived at Rayne Place until 1958 when she passed no aged 88. His mother worked for her. A letter has arrived from Russia. They have been restoring a cemetary and a box was found in the vault containing his mothers name. Clemantine had paid for the funeral. Jim is trying to find out more about his mothers employer to find the connection. If anyone can help please let me know
Thanks
Pauline

Hallo Pauline,
I don`t know if I can help your friend much, but I have a copy of a letter written by my Great Uncle Brooke Lungley to Mary Carrington Brewster in 1949, as she knew the Lungley family well, and supplied our family with lots of information regarding our ancestry.     The reason for the letter was that she was in possession of the Lungley family bible, which apparently she had inherited with other items from Peyton Hall, near Boxford, requesting its return, as presumably it was of no particular interest to her.     Unfortunately it was never returned.
If you are interested, I can tell you a little more about our family connections.
Good luck.
Ann.
