BUrial information - Henfield
« on: Saturday 21 January 06 16:34 GMT (UK) »
HI all,

I have received burial information from SFHG for Henfield in St Peter's Churchyard (re Dale,Andrews & Tullett) , but they have advised that :
'entries for   Henfield    in the index henfield burials only apply to the church yard .there is a parish cemetery close by and this comes under the parish council, and would be where later burials took place.'

Does anyone know how I can get details of burials in the parish cemetery - I know tht some of my lot are in there.

I have e-mailed the Parish council but had no joy as yet.  :(

Tahnks

Thanks Chris,

How do I gain access to the records - are they on line or do I need to go to a local library,or specific location to view the records?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi there

Obviously they are at the East Sussex Record Office, but your local Library may have copies or can get them through the inter library loan service.

Thanks Chris,Will do,

Thanks too Lesanne - I was actually in Henfield at the weekend. It was my brother's brithday and I aksked him if he'd like me to take him out for the morning. When he said yes I said come on then - the cemetary!! We went armed with a brush and camera and found a few family Tombstones in there, which was wonderful. HOwever I know there are many more in there. Fortunately my brother still lives in Henfield and is my 'man on teh ground' for such treats.
