1841 Census - MILES in CHEVENING?
« on: Monday 23 January 06 22:27 GMT (UK) »
Have this family in  the 1851 Census - kindly provided by this list - was wondering if anyone can find them in 1841 Census - I am trying to verifiy/establish the exact relationship between Mary Burges(s) and Thomas MILES.

Could anyone possibly extract MILES in Shibborn (sic) from the census? Is that too much to ask?

Here are the 51 Census details:
1851 Kent Census
Whilley Row, Chevening
Thomas MILES head mar 48 fruiterer b.Shibborn (sic) Kent
Harriett wife 43 b.Sundridge
Sarah dau unm 17 b.Chevening
Henry son 16 b.Chevening
Jeremiah son 10 b.Chevening
Samson son 8 b.Chevening
Thomas son 6 b.Chevening
Eliza dau 4 b.Chevening
Mary BURGES nease (neice?) unmarried 28 b.Sundridge
Phillis BURGES 4m nease's (sic) daughter b.Chevening
HO107/1613 folio 162 page 12

Any help on this brickwall would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ashe

This could be some of the children but the parents don't appear to be at home ...........

1841

Whitley/Whitby Row, Chevening, Kent

William MILES 15 beer seller b.Kent
Sarah 8 b.Kent
Henry 6 b.Kent
/
Henry TICHNER 25 ag lab b.Kent

HO107/481/4 folio 5 page 3

Sorry but I can't positively identify Mary BURGESS from amongst those in Kent - not knowing which other family members she is likely to be with or where she should be :(

Thanks very much Casalguidi
I appreciate this one - interesting to see that the parents are out and about - wonder if it was common place then.
Cheers
