1841 Census - East Peckam
« on: Monday 23 January 06 22:51 GMT (UK) »
Hiya

I am looking for anybody who has access to the 1841 to do me a huge favour and look up the Cheesman Family, who I believe should be living at Bullen(m) Farm, East Peckham.  I know that an Elizabeth Cheesman should be living there together with a son, William.
What I would dearly love to know if Elizabeth`s husband is alive and what is his name.  She is a widow in the 1851 census.
Any help would be appreciated

Wattsy,

Have found the following in 1841 :

New Bullen Street, East Peckham

Elizabeth Cheesman 55 Farmer
Elizabeth Cheesman 20
Mary Cheesman 20
John Cheesman 20
William Cheesman 15
Ann Cheesman 15

; so it would appear that either Mr Cheesman was away or deceased at this time, as the marital status was not shown in the 1841 census.

Regards,

Al & Al

Thanks very much Al & AL for all your help.  Unfortunately, it doesn't answer my question but who said it would be easy.

Many many thanks once again for taking the trouble to help.

Did you find what you were looking for back in '06 Wattsy? This thread cam up on a google search I did.

The Elizabeth Cheesman (mother) I am tracing I think was born in Tonbridge 1782. Not sure if married to a William. Son William was born 1822 est. He married an Elizabeth. 7 Chidlren - Elizabeth, Florence, Clara, Arthur, Herbert, Constance & Ernest.

Is it likely to be the same family you were looking at here?
