Munro and Braid

If anyone knows anything about the following I would love to hear from you:

John MUNRO and Ann McCleod BRAID.

John and Ann were married 28 December, 1812 at St Andrews and St Leonards, Fife, Scotland.

Their children were:
Katharine (1813),
Mary (1815),
John (1816),
David (1818),
Jess (female) (1820),
Norman Braid (1822),
Isabella (1824),
Hugh (1826),
Alexander Braid (1828),
James (1830).

I am descended from Mary. She married my g g grandfather, George Williamson BRUCE (born in Banff in 1809) in Longford Ireland.

I have many generations of Braids from St. Andrews.

The last being;
Betty Braid (John Braid / Margaret Bruce)
b. 19 Nov 1775, St. Andrews And St. Leonards
d. 1851-1861, St. Andrews And St. Leonards

I am sure there is a connection somewhere, and I'll look into it.

Ah yes, thanks NorrieG. I do have this census info. I have since discovered that several of the family went to Ireland (County Down) in the early 1840's where Jess married John Henderson, Norman married there in 1847 and later emigrated to the US, but the others are still a mystery to me.   

Thanks also TunjiLees - I don't know of the names you mention as I haven't looked that far back. Interesting that there's another Bruce connection there.

Thanks for this. Yes I did have this also. It was this Anne McCleod Braid who married John Munro in 1812.
