I was just wondering if anyone has any information on my Orwin
She is Mary Orwin and she married Benjamin Golightly on the 16 July 1811 at St Hilda's South Shields.  If anyone has any information I would be greatly appreciative as I seem to have come to a road block on this line.
Thanks
Denise

Hi there

I realise this is an old post but wondered if you'd come across Wilson James Orwin born 1845 in Newcastle and married Jane Watson James and had 6 children - all girls?  Wilson James was the son of Thomas Orwin and Elizabeth Peacock.

Many of the off Orwin names came from the fact that they put surnames as middle names passing down the generations hence I also have in my tree a William Peacock Orwin, his middle name comign from his grandmothers maiden name.

Any information gratefully received.

Hi Jane

Many thanks for that - I have noticed the Wilson Orwins in Newcastle and I am sure there must be some sort of link - it is an unusual combination of names.

I also recently found a Wilson ORwin dying in Lanchester in the late 1700s - maybe there is a connection there too.

James Orwin, born 1879, son of William and Frances Orwin of Gateshead came to Australia with his wife Agnes (nee Wilson) in around 1910. I am looking for any descendants of James and Agnes or the Wilson family of Birtley, Durham in regard to a World War I research project.
Hope someone out there can help.
Thanks
Linda

Hi there

This is definately the same Orwin tree as mine, I don't have any descendent information though for James but can send you all the information I have on the parents and some of the other siblings.

Thanks Jane,
Any information about James' family would be great.  I am working on a few leads here in Australia, so will send you anything I find.
Thanks for such a prompt reply
