Mathew Fancey can be found in the 1881 Canadian census.  He is listed as being age 52, born England, married, a farmer, Church of England.  Living at Bosanquet, Lambton County, Ontario.  District 179, Sub district M, Division 2, Page 47, Household 222.  Others in his household are Marey, age 40, born Ontario, Married, William age 8, Thomas age 6, John age 5, Jane age 3, Elizabeth age 1, Mathew age 22 - all born Ontario.
Hope this helps.

Hello

here is Mathew's marriage
5396-73 Mathew FANCEY, 44, widower, laborer, Dorset England, Georgetown, s/o Mathew & Jane, married Mary WATLING, 32, Guelph, Georgetown, d/o William & Mary, witn: Edmund LU--? & Elizabeth LUMLEY, both of Georgetown, 25 May 1873 at Georgetown

this may be some of the family in later years in Canada

       58 Fancy Mary F   Head W Jan 19 1841 60
44   58 Fancy John M   Son S Mar 23 1876 25
Source Information: 1901 Census of Canada
Subdistrict: Emerson (Town/Ville), PROVENCHER, MANITOBA
District Number: 10
Subdistrict Number: b-2
Archives Microfilm: T-6434

This could be the deaths of two of the children listed in the 1881 Canadian Census. Both these deaths are in Manitoba where both Mary and John are in the 1901 census

go to this site and look for district b-2 and then page 6 lines 43 and 44 - that is John and his mother Mary Fancy (sorry about the long URL)
