!891 & 1901 Census Tristram family Derby
« on: Friday 27 January 06 10:48 GMT (UK) »
I would be grateful of a lookup of the 1891 and 1901
census for the family of..

John Tristram b. abt. 1851 in Derby.  His wife is possably
Avis b. abt. 1852 in Derby.  Avis died before the 1901 census.
I know they have at least 2 children, Sarah b. 1872 and
Esther b. 1874 in Derby, Derbyshire.

I believe he remarried in 1895 to Hannah b. abt. 1859
in Condor Park.

I am looking for the children in both census lists.

With thanks

Gertie

Hello suzard,

I have spent several hours trying to get information
on my Tristram family at Ancestry's free 1901 census.
I don't seem to have enough information, to get the
right family, or perhaps I'm not doing things right.

Is it possible to just have the names and ages of
the people living in the household of John Tristram
at the time of the 1901 census.

I would be very grateful of some help.

With thanks

Gertie

The fact that the 1901 census is free at the moment is all very well but it does not give accees to the original images where the real information lies.

This is my interpretation of an image which is difficult to read.

1901 census

Bridge Gate, Court xii, No 8 Buildings, Derby Derbyshire

John Tristram Head age 50 Cotton Dyer born Leath
Hannah wife age 45 Lace Mender born Condor Park Derby
William son age 21 General Labourer born Derby
Thomas Blackless(?) son age 13 born Derby
George Tristram son age 7 born Derby
Ernest Blackless(?) son age 4 born Derby
Esther Perch, visitor Widow age 36  Domestic Servant born Derby - possibly Ethel but extremely blurred.

RG13/3214 Derby Folio 176 Page 36

I will try and verify the other name for you

In 1897 a John Tristram appears on the same page as  Hannah Blackton marrying in Derby

Tristram, John
Marriage Qrt ending December 1897
Derby

If this is him he gives you an idea of how difficult that image was to read.
