have only just seen this, but I have some Moss in my tree, pardon the pun!! I have May Moss born 1895, my great grandma, born in Northmoor, Oxfordshire, her parents were James Moss, 1854 and Mary Motteram, 1854, is this the same Moss family you are looking for?

I have a small Mossy branch in my Henley tree.
Charles Moss married Martha Reeves on 27 August 1788 at St Mary's Henley. Their four children baptised at Henley were Charles (1789), John (1792), James (1795) & Robert (1806). Martha's family are my interest and were in Henley from at least 1664.

           I also have Moss family in my tree.
Edward George Moss m Kate Dance 1901 in Abingdon was in Berkshire now called Oxfordshire. They were both born here as well.

I have an Ann MOSS born May 1761 in Banbury Oxon, daughter of Richard & Mary. She married Richard POTTAR in Banbury in Sep 1782. the rest is history!

james moss was my great grandfather stephen moss brother.   He was born in northmoor in 1853.married to martha elizabeth wilson.  Their father was John Moss 1830 northmoor married to Mary Sadler, and his father was also John Moss 1806 Northmoor married to jane ricketts.  Does anyone know who john moss 1806 father is please?

Have checked Northmoor parish register cannot see a John Moss 1806. But there are other Moss children all seem to be children of William and Elizabeth. Let me know if I can help you further with Northmoor parish register.

Thanks Toby  I have got John Moss 1806 married to Jane Ricketts born 1806 in Aston.  She married John Moss on 3rd April 1825 in Northmoor.  Do you have anything on Jane Ricketts parents please?

I have Aston parish registers they start at 1839.
