1841 census LOMAX - poss Bexley/Woolwich

I am trying to find Mary Lomax in the 1841 census.

In 1851 she is living in London Road, Bexley.  She is aged 72, born Sheffield and the widow of a soldier in the Royal Artillery.

She and her family are the only LOMAX family living in Kent on the 1851 census.

Hi Bearkat,
I've been through the 1841 census for Bexley (pieces 480-03 and 04), but I'm afraid that I couldn't find Mary for you. In the 1841 census, London Road is just shown as Bexley Heath, but Mary's census entry in 1851 shows her living next door but one to the Kings Head pub, which is easy to locate in 1841. Have you found her two grandchildren in 1841, maybe she was living with them somewhere ?

I haven't found any of the family in 1841.  Without an index it's very difficult as you know.

I've trawled through ancestry but still can't find my LOMAX family.

She may be living with her son's family:
             George (who may be dead)
his wife Frances born 1810 Chatham
children Frances born 1833 Woolwich
             George Robert 1835 Woolwich
             Walter  Thomas born 1836 Woolwich
             Ellen born 1838 Wath upon Dearne, Yorks

Frances LOMAX (nee MEDHURST) married John Graves WYATT in 1847, Poplar.
George must have died somewhere between 1838 and 1847 but there are many George LOMAXs on the BMD indexes so I haven't a clue which is mine - the 1846 Dartford entry looks the most promising.  If he was in the army like his father he may have died abroad.

After searching Ancestry for a year I have found the family at last.

They were enumerated as LOMAS but transcribed as CHOMAS  and living near Rotherham.
