his age30.    1861 census has him with wife Maria.
Need help to find him in 1851 census.
marriage certificate lists his father as John Oldfield, farmer.
looking in Lancashire BMD found possible first wife Isabella Hutchinson married 1852 same church. couldn't find death.
 All help appreciated.

Hi Dianne

The 1861 census shows John as being married and his age as 32
years old, however, there is no wife at home at the day of the census. He is living with his parents.

Did you mean 1851 census?  I have the 1861 with wife Maria.
1851 his age should be about 18 or 20 according to other census
What names are there for other people in household.  where are they living?

I have not found a marriage with a Susannah. However, this would mean that he married before 1850 as their daughter is1 in 1851. Did it give the daughters name? I will look again in LancashireBMD Thanks  Dianne
