Help! Stuck! Marriage 1940s Luton
« on: Friday 03 February 06 14:25 GMT (UK) »
How would I go about getting a marriage certificate for the following marriage in Luton:

John MCINERNEY (1925)  to Sheila CHAPMAN (1928)
Date - Probably around 1948

I need to find out parentage of John.  I am more familiar with Scottish records, not sure where to go.

Thanks!  :)

Hello - get unstuck  :D

Just trawled through marriage indexes now available via www.Ancestry.co.uk

found them in Dec 1949 Stoke N'ton (which I assume is Stoke Newington) vol 5d page 1370.  John McInerney <> Sheila P Chapman

best regards John

No problem - glad to help

Do you have his birth certificate ? where was he born ?

& why Luton, Beds - when they seem to have been married around Hackney North London ?

& lastly, have you tried looking on www.GenesReunited.co.uk
