Dead End any ideas?!

I have come to a bit of a stand still with one part of my family tree can any suggest anything i can do?!

Basically I have my great grandparents marriage certificate showing me that my greatgrandmother was Mary Elliott age 22 in Sept 1904 and her father was thomas Elliott he was a painters Labourer.
When I go to 1901 census there are lots of Elliotts but none in Wingrave Buckingham which is where her marriage took place.
I also have some hazy memories from a relative that Mary had two sisters- Angie and Nellie (obviously nicknames, which do not help much I suppose?! especially as I was told that Mary was called Polly too!!)
is this all a lost cause?
Any ideas how to sift through and find the correct Elliott family?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!

Question before answers I'm afraid.

Was there any address on the 1904 marriage (or state if "of this parish")

What were the witnesses names?

Have you got her birth certificate?
 That would give her mother name to, which would give you another name to help sort out which one is which.

No address, the residence is just stated as Wingrave
and there are 2 witnesses:

Ada Mead
and
Elizabeth Bateman
I have no idea who they would be!!!

do you know where her first children were born ?  Often people seem to go back to their home parish for the first child or two.

Otherwise - pick the most likely candidates - the nearest to her marraige place and go back and see if any of them had a child of the right name at the time she was born.  Hopefully there will only be one.

Hi CU- this is my problem- I cannot order her birth certificate because there are lots of Mary Elliotts born that year and as I do not know where she was from I cannot select the correct mary elliott!!
So frustrating!!

Hi Julie thank you for the suggestion this i have tried but all her children including my grandfather were born in Wingrave!

You can order the certificates and put checks on it so that they cross reference them with what you do know eg fathers name

Also Nellie might not be a nickname - I have found a few christened girls with the name Nelly in my family. Maybe she will be easier to locate.
