2nd battalion the leicestershire regiment

could anyone tell me anything about the 2nd battalion the leicestershire regiment my grandfather was a lance corporal in this regiment his name Alfred dannatt, would love a bit of history on the regiment.

I have my grandads army records lance corporal alfred dannatt (believe it or not spelt dannant on the certificate) 4853448
enlisted and joined the lecestershire regiment on 10 feb 1925
posted to depot the leicestershire regiment on 11 feb 1925
posted to 2nd battalion the leicestershire regiment on 11 sept 1925
appointed farrier to the battalion on 3 may 1932
reliquished appountment of farrier 11 sept. 1933
appointed lance corporal 26 aug 1937
posted for temporary duty palestine 15 sep 1938
posted to depot the leicestershire regiment and discharged 28 feb 1939
service with the colours 10 feb 1925 - 28 feb 1939
overseas service
germany 9 nov 1927- 1 oct 1929
palestine 15 sep 1938 - 27 feb 1939
