Log of a Merchant Ship

Can any one please advise me how would I get hold of a copy of the log of a merchant ship.

I have a death of a Henry Hampton on the ship Polycarp. Place of death Manaos, date 3 June 1921. Body found 6 June 1921.

I would like to know what happen and what happen to his body. Is this possible?

CU,looks like she was Swedish at the year quoted,Manaus is 1'000 miles up the R Amazon,its a long passage down,so I guess he would be buried there.
It's a very religious place so all respect will have been shown+a record kept somewhere.
This country was under Portugese control at the time,lots of work for you there!

Now found out that the log to this ship and many other have been given to the
Memorial University Newfoundland, Maritime Archive. St John's Newfoundland Canada.  :o

Could any one of our Canadian rootchat members help me in any way?
