Yes, these are part of the ancestors. How are you able to view the 1891 census? I can only view 1881. Do you know what "broom" after the name of some of the people on the census means?
Being Canadian I can't understand the term (lol).

Is your information correct? You mention born 1796, and married 1820 but then accept the results of an 1891 census - there is a 95 years difference there. It does not make sense. Somewhere there is some wrong info posted on this thread.

Supersan,
Thanks for the Broom info. It's odd that a visior would have been entered into a census when s/he didn't even live there. Not the way we do it here in Canada..

BD and Supersan,

The 1891 census re. Alexander refers to Arthur's son and family. Thanks for that info.
I've got a feeling that our line, Alexander's brother, Robert, may have already been in Canada by 1891.
As for Arthuer, b. circa 1796, we've got a feeling he just appeared in England as  no one can find his parents...
If anyone has clues to how I could find or know where I could look for Arthur's ancestors I would appreciate it.
Also, we have a William Burridge b. circa 1853 who married Mary Elizabeth Kendall also from Battersea, children: Jessie b. 1876, William Thomas b. 1878, Lucy Maria about 1880. We can't find his parents.... Sounds like he was a relative of both Robert and Alexander. who knows.
Tks for any help
