Lost - William Henry Dunn in London after 1932
« on: Tuesday 07 February 06 01:03 GMT (UK) »
Lost my grandfather in London.  William Henry Dunn left 2 of his children in an orphanage after his wife died in 1931 & disappeared.  He supposedly re-married & had another family - have so far been unable to prove/disprove this due to his common name.  I have managed to go back further but would like to finalise this line. Below is what I know/have proved.  Any ideas would be much appreciated on how to find his death.

Thanks for any help...

WILLIAM HENRY DUNN (EDMUND THOMAS, ROBERT) was born June 1895 in Great Quebec St., Marylebone, ENGLAND, and died Abt. 1943.  He married ETTY WILSON March 1921 in St Matthew's Church, Willesden, Middlesex, ENGLAND, daughter of RICHARD WILSON and ELLEN HALL.

More About WILLIAM HENRY DUNN:
Occupation: 1921, Salesman as per marriage cert.
Occupation 2: Butler
Occupation 3: 1931, Builder's labourer, as per Dad’s birth cert & Builder’s painter as per daughter's birth cert.
Residence: 1921, Oldfield Rd Willesden NW2, ENGLAND

Hi Dushine,

The only suggestion I can make is that you concentrate on finding the death of William Henry Dunn and get his death certificate, this will show who informed the registrar of the death, hopefully it will be a family member maybe his 2nd wife.

I'm sure some other rootschatter will come up with some other ideas.

happy hunting

Thanks, I had thought about that.  Trouble is so far I have found about 12 deaths for William Henry Dunns of various areas around London, from 1932 - 1945.  But as I don't know for sure where he ended up I'm only guessing.  It's going to be an expensive exercise unless I can find a way of narrowing it down.  But I'll keep looking, he has to be somewhere...
Thanks again for the suggestion.
Take care,        Sue...
