Walter Amos,shepherd,Altrieve
« on: Tuesday 07 February 06 02:46 GMT (UK) »
I am presently looking at Iventory of Personal Effects, for one Walter Amos, shepherd, died Altrieve 1848.(no Will).
Inventory,also includes an oath,concerning the estate,of Mrs.Isobel Schiel(Burnett/Beattie),widow of the deceased,Andrew Beattie,of Deepdale,who died,Aug.1850.
Isabel,appears to have died 27.jan.1851.
I.G.I does include an Andrew Beattie, who married an Isabella Burnett,in Ettrick 1815.
Do I have an Isabella nee:Schiel(who first married a Beattie)2nd. Andrew Beattie?
Mr. Burnett,d. prior to 1815???
Anyone??

Hi Boogie

This looks like one which willonly be confirmed after a trawl through the OPR films. You have the dates  so it would not be too hard on the eyesight to peer at a couple of years worth of old records.
Do you have access to them through local library or LDS centre?

I'm sure someone on site will have an answer, not just an inspired guess.

Hi Russell,
Grateful,for your input.
I have looked at the OPR's.Unfortunately, there is quite a gap in records, for the Parishes of Yarrow and Ettrick,in the time period I am seeking.
My families, belong to,FREE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND,as I suspect many in this area were.To find a minister,of the same persuasion, was difficult, thus, these parishes were without a minister,in the midst of the controversy.

Even though they were Free Church burial would take place in the nearest burial groung which was often around he local church. Is there any coverage of the cemetery MIs on-line
