1841 Census look up LEEDS please
« on: Tuesday 07 February 06 19:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I hope someone out there can help me again.

I'm after information about Isabella Ellison who would have been around 17 on the 1841 census.

She was born in Heslington, Yorkshire in 1823. I have found her on every census from 1851 to 1901, but have struggled to find her in 1841.

I have been given information that she may have been in Leeds for the 1841 census. She may not have been living with her parents.

I wouls really appreciate it if someone could confirm this and give me details as to where she was living and who she was living with.

Regards
Carol

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

It will be the one living in Skirpenbeck with William Richardson. Isabella married one of his sons!

I'd love the information if you've got it please.

Thanks
Carol

Hi Carol

I have Isabella Ellison's brother Samuel in my tree.  He is not in my direct line but he married one of my husband's ?Xs Gr Aunts Bella Forth in 1850.  Bella died in 1858 and Samuel married Bella's sister in law Jane (Hopwood) Forth.  Jane was the widow of Bella's brother Frances who had also died in 1858.

I have a little bit more information on Samuel if you would be interested - just let me know.

Hello Pinetree,

I would be interested in more information about Samuel. Where and when was he born?

I wasn't aware that Isabella had another brother - so far I have only found Jonathan.

Isabella is a direct ancestor of mine, who I have traced right from her birth to her death. To find out about another brother is great.

Regards

Carol
