The Horans of Galway
« on: Wednesday 08 February 06 15:49 GMT (UK) »
I am tracing my family The Horans who came from Galway. From the 1871 census onwards they are in England and ive got information from there onwards. However I would much appreciate any information prior to this from when they was in Ireland. I know that James Horan was born in Galway in 1838.

Many thanks

Ive got a bit more information now :

James Horan b 1838 married Bridget Morris born 1840 in 1863 Walsall, Eng.

They left Galway during the potato famine.

Jamess father Thomas Horan, Bridgets parents Patrick (d.prior to 1863) and Mary Morris both from Galway.

The name Horan has been spelt in many different ways.

Cheers

Andy
