Hi There,
You explained that so very well, thankyou....

I think the best thing, is to wait for the 1851 Census that will come on line within a week or two, (on Scotlandspeople). Then you could try for him as a teenager at home...he should have started his baker apprenticeship...
The other thing you could do is look for a marriage of the son Donald, to see who his parents names are? or easier still would be to look for the death of Isabella....
Keep us posted...
I will have a look on the IGI.
Regards,
Jo
Modified............
I searched for any Donald Macintosh born nairn about 1843 with a mother Isabella, and this family came up, but sadly the father was William.....This is only a possible right family for Donald but, notice the first child was born at Moy ...so that would put Isabella at Moy where she said she was from, so I feel this family are the ones in the 1861c, which would make Isabella not the mother of your Alexander and Jesse......
remember though, Jesse most likely was christened Jesse but, she could be any name almost.... Jane Janet Margaret....
Jesse is often an affectionate name and they can keep it through life, ....just to confuse us further......
