McKimmie - Inverness/Dingwall
« on: Saturday 11 February 06 16:44 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any information on McKimmies in the area.

Daniel McKimmie (b Forres 6 October 1840) was married to Henrieta Aves and their children, John and Minnie were born in Dingwell. Daniel was a partner in a Coach building company in Inverness, possibly with his younger brother George Anderson McKimmie(born Forres 27 October 1847) and lived at 2 Ardconnel Terrace, Inverness. Any information and/or best way of finding any would be much appreciated.

Hi Rita,

Don't know if this is of any help but in the MIs for the Old Church & Burial Ground Alness there is one McKimmie Family.

Cherished memories if beloved grandparents & uncles, William McKimmie who died 3rd Feb 1935 aged 82 years; beloved husband of Frances Kemp died 15th Aug 1948 aged 81 years; & their infant daughter Margaret Ann who died 8th July 1906 aged 3 months; also their sons; John died 7th Feb 1981 aged 79years; Andrew Ross wo died 20th July 1991 aged 98 years

No mention of who erected the stone but presumably they are still alive & maybe living in the area.

Hi Maria & Joe

many thanks for the information; just what I have been looking for. I am descended from Daniels elder brother James but since posting I have now contacted 2 of Daniels great grandchildren as well as those of the youngest son Alexander. Now with all your information I can go further back.

Thanks again
