Hello,

Not sure what can be looked up here.

Would like to find out anything about 3xgt grandfather

All I have is

marriage certificate stepney 1853 married Jessie Newman Turner
census for Stepney, London 1861 which states

Edward White 26 born Carlow Ireland occ Tailor therefore born c 1835

Now know his father was James White occ also tailor

Edward died before 1871

Can find nothing on IGI!

Can anyone please help/ideas/advice?

Hiya Mark,

Happy Easter.

I found a couple of guys named James Whte in Griffith's Valuation of Co. Carlow which took place in 1852-3. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php There is also an Edward. Those Christian names may assist in finding in which townland Edward was born..that is if he was not born in Carlow town. I wonder did all members of the family move to London or just Edward ??? His father's name is not on the Stepney Census for 1861 is it ??? If not that means he either died before 1861 or was living in Ireland. Edward was 18 when he married and only 36 when he died. I would not be at all surprised if Edward's father remained in Co. Carlow.
