           Was wondering if you could look up a marriage of Thomas Towell and Ann ? (possibly Sutor) from Wing about 1760-61. Thanking you,

Have checked my fiche and come up with Thomas Towell parish of Oakham married Ann Seaton in Uppingham 1786.

Have you any other clues?

I have Wing marriages on fiche 1754 - 1811 which I can checl later but they are not on my Rutland marriage fiche 1754 - 1837

               I do have the Ann Seaton marriage she was the mother of Thomas Towell. If you could check your Wing records, I would be very very grateful as I believe the Ann in question was from there as their three children were also born there. Thank you very much Paul,

No Luck I'm afraid mate.  I went up to 1782 and still nothing.

Do you have anymore information on the family?

My next step would be to contact Sherry Nesbit at the Leic & Rutland records office and enquire about Thomas or Ann's Will if they left one!

               Thank you so much for your efforts. I will do as you say and contact Mrs Nesbitt. I have a lot of info on the Towell family but this is the only missing marriage. I will have to go over my records and see if there is another way of attacking the situation as well. Once again thank you and I hope I can return the favour.

Hello

My first on the board so I hope I'm posting in the right place.

My grandfather, Herbert Towell is listed in the 1911 census as living in Keighley but his place of birth is given as Empingham. His age is given as 30 so that would mean he was born in 1879. Is there any info to link him to the other Towells of Empingham please?
