Hi geno500,
I think you will find that Jericho has the problem well sorted.

I'm almost 100% sure that Jericho is someone I had contact with some years back and established that Henry's parents were Thomas Searle and his wife Sarah nee Willers, Henry was baptised 19 Feb 1797 at Felsted.
Malcolm was quite correct when stating the PR gave Henry's mother as Mary, but the mother's name in the baptism entries for the five siblings preceding Henry was given as Sarah and the same for the four siblings who followed Henry. It is generally accepted by Essex Searles researchers that the church person who recorded Henry's baptism made an error, not one researcher has found any evidence of a couple named Thomas and Mary Searles in or near Felsted around that time.
Just for the record Henry Searle at some time slipped over the border from Essex into Hertfordshire where he married Mary Wright 16 July 1720 at Sawbridgeworth, they then founded a Hertfordshire line of Searles.
It could be that the person who recorded Henry's baptism was new to the job and not sure of the mother's first name, the surname for the five siblings baptised prior to Henry was spelled Serle, for Henry and his four younger siblings it was Searle.
Henry's elder brother Thomas is my ancestor.
Regards.
