1841 census Greenslade
« on: Friday 17 February 06 21:39 GMT (UK) »
Hello there,

This is a bit of a long shot but I was wandering if anyone who had access to the 1841 census would see if they could find a George Greenslade in Wellington.
He was born about 1834 in Chumleigh, Devon and his father was William.
I don't know when they moved to Wellington but they don't seem to be on the 41 Devon census.
Thank you,
Anne.

Hi Anne, do you know what his mother's name was or any siblings, as I can't find a George with William as his father. I found one with his mother and siblings and a couple as servants, but none in Wellington. Is it possible that William or both parents may have died by then, or do you have them in later census'?

Regards
Kate.

Hi Kate,

Thanks for looking.
I only know of George and William. William was named on George's marriage certificate in 1853, that's how I know his name.
I have no knowledge of George's mother or siblings.
I have been trying to find this family for over a year but they are proving to be very elusive.
In 1851 George was living in lodgings so that was no help with the family.

Cheers,
Anne.
