Millers in Cheshire 1861 and 1871
« on: Tuesday 28 September 04 10:41 BST (UK) »
I know it is difficult if there is no index but I am looking for a RICHARD PRESCOTT who is a miller in 1861 and 1871 in Cheshire.
After 30 years I broke through the wall to find an individual who married in Manchester in 1872. He gave his father's occupation as a miller and in the 1873 Manchester Directory there was RICHARD PRESCOTT. Unfortunately he was not in the 1871 Manchester census!
In the 1881 census there is a retired miller called Richard Prescott in Over born in Darnhall. It would be nice to think that this was the person but I need to find out where he was in 1861 and 1871. Ancestry has not yet put Cheshire on line!. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hi John
I have searched the 1871 census pieces for the Northwich reg. district without finding Richard Prescott, I noticed that he was staying with a nephew on the 1881 census so I found him but no Richard. I don't have acsess to the 1861 so I looked on the 1851 again in the Northwich pieces, no luck not there.
