Coleraine Cemetery help for O'Doherty
« on: Sunday 19 February 06 06:52 GMT (UK) »
I'm hoping someone with good legs may be able to wander around the cemetery to find my grandmother's gravestone. I was told she was buried in St John's Catholic Cemetery, Killowen, Coleraine. Her name was Annie O'Doherty nee Mulhern. Not sure of date of death. She died when my father was quite young possibly late 1920's early 1930's. Any details on the headstone would be greatly appreciated as details on her family are very sketchy. My dad now also deceased. Perhaps there would be other family members around her??

Her husband James Joseph O'Doherty died and was buried in Portstewart in 1973. His second wife was later buried with him. I was in Ireland five years ago and found my grandfather's grave but not grandmother's. Got pretty lost around Coleraine and short of time.
Thanks

Thanks Mary. Sorry I am not sure if there is a headstone on the grave. I wouldn't like to send you off on a wild goose chase!
The McLaughlin connection is my Great Grandmother. My father told me his grandfather William Doherty married a Catherine McLaughlin. I have to get a copy of Granddad's birth certificate to confirm this though. Just beginning!
Thanks
Jackie
