Selina Emily Whalley born 1901 / 2 in Shoeburyness. Parents THOMAS and EMILY WHALLEY.
Found THOMAS and EMILY on 1901 census in Shoeburyness but not previous, they could be in Ireland in 1891.
Anyone any more info on this family ?

I'm just taking a well-earned rest from DIY before I have my Sunday lunch. I just doodled around the 1881 census on the LDS site assuming that Thomas Whalley was born in 1875 +or- 20 years All countries for birth and census year.
I couln't see any born in Ireland but leaving aside your mention of an Ireland connection there is a Thomas Whalley age 3 born and living with parents and 5 siblings in Wickford, Essex which is pretty close (15 miles according to Google map) to Shoeburyness.Do the first names resonate down the years?

thanks for that ! very interesting and Ive made a note but 1901 does say Thomas was born Armagh,Ireland and then 2 of his children are born in Ireland between 1892 - 1901 so tend to think they went back to Ireland for a while.
Selina is baptised 1902 in Shoeburyness. Perhaps Wickford family are inked though.
I'll keep hunting and let you know. thanks for help
