FULK Family - Hoxne
« on: Sunday 19 February 06 13:58 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor Judith Fulk married William Abbott in Hoxne on 13 May 1815.  She was buried in Hoxne on 4 March 1824 aged 34.  So far I have not been able to find out anymore about Judith - does anyone have any information on the Fulk family from this area?

Hi Pinetree

I can see only one "Fulk" in Suffolk in 1841 and she's in Hoxne ...

HO107/1025/11 folio 15 page 15
"Market Street"
George Gosling, 65, ag lab
Sarah Gosling, 65
(single tally mark - presumably a lodger)
Martha Fulk, 75, ag widow
All born Suffolk

Given Martha's "occupation", she evidentally married into the Fulk family.
The surname is obviously a rare one - maybe her late husband was closely related to your Judith?

Cheers
Dave

Thank you both for your replies.

Martha Fulk was buried in 1851 age 88 - this would make her 27 when Judith was born - could be her mother  ???

Well its a theory worth working on I suppose  :-\

Thanks again,
