Hi Agnes

Cashel or Cashell is an Irish name.  I imagine Cashal is a variant of that name.  The name Cashell originated in County Louth I understand.

Best wishes

Hi Agnes

No problem.

Of course there is no guarantee that your Cashals are from Louth, but it might provide a starting point.

Best wishes

Mags

Thank you very much for the link, I have had a quick look and believe that I emailed this gentleman in Ireland a few months ago. There does appear to be more info on the site, so I will have a good look through and perhaps try another email to see if we have a connection.

You are very kind, I appreciate it very much

Best wishes

Agnes

Would they be from Cashel, Tipperary by any chance? I don't know exactly where that is yet but I have just discovered some of my ancestors have come from there.

Good luck.

My Fennessys were from Tipperary.
Here's the multimap link to see where Cashel is:

If they do turn out to have come fromTipperary, the family history society there is very helpful.

Good luck, Rian.
