Mary Yates b Nov 1905

Can't find details of the birth eventhough I know the exact date

Parents James John Yates & (?) possibly Miss Waugh Carrick.

Have found the family of the mother living in Glasgow London Road but can't find birth or any records of the father a marriage or birth of only child.
Any ideas would be a great help.

I found only 1 Mary Yates born in 1905 in all of Scotland.  She was born in Airdrie, Lanark.

Hi there,

Is it possible that the date of birth you have is incorrect?  Or that the surname may be mispelled?

I have found on quite a few occasions that people's births aren't when I though they were or should be.  And that sometimes they are registered under a different first name or the surname is spelled differently.

There seem to be a few births and marriages for the name spelled YEATS.

I have her name from her marr. cert and confirmed by her daughter. I know her parents are meant to have both died a cople of years after she was born. She was then brought up by a maternal Aunt and her husband. I can see myself having to wait for the 1911 census.

PS I have know been told that their was a story that she might have been born in South Africa!!!!
