Royal Marines - John Reginald Skinner WW2
« on: Friday 24 February 06 16:13 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find out any information on my great Uncle: John Reginald Skinner (known as Jack).
He served in the Royal Marines in WW2, but that is all I know.
Can anybody help please ?

Hello Angie,
Go to this page which I think will help;
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=56
There is always a problem understanding whether they came within Army or Admiralty jurisdiction.
My own RM release is entitled;
"Order of Release from Naval Service"

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Thanks. I've had a look at the website but nothing is listed for WW2.
