RFC in WW1, - Rank anyone?
« on: Tuesday 28 February 06 12:03 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I'm attaching a photo of my late Uncle, - who was in the RFC during WW1.

I'd be grateful if anyone on here can tell his Rank from his uniform.

Many thanks, Romilly.

hiya denn, hes in the army, most of the RFC were army men, many from the RE,i cant make out his badges, but i may find him if i know his name, the stripe on his cuff is a wound stripe so he may have been wounded while he was in the army, mack

Denn, the equivalent rank in today's RAF is a Pilot officer. :)

Great pic Romilly!

Mick ;)

Hi All,

Many thanks for the replies.

Mack, - his name was George Felix Wilson, (1900-1970). Here's another pic of him, - I'm not sure if this one is earlier than the last one or not.

Cheers, Romilly.

I'd say that the second pic is the earliest as he has no medal ribbons like he does on the first one.
