Alfred Dudley born 1854
« on: Tuesday 28 February 06 20:07 GMT (UK) »
I have been told that one of my great  uncles was employed at the works during the constrution of the Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir Dam project. It would probably have been Alfred Dudley son of Richard Dudley Headmaster of Llanyblodwel School or one of his sons. Can anyone give me any clues if this true or where he was working at the later end of the century. Many thanks.

When and where was Alfred born?

Where was he in the 1871 census?

Did he marry, and if so to whom?

I have no record of him being married. Other imfo, He was born at New Bold on Avon, Warwickshire in 1854. In 1871 census he was at his parents, Richard and Ann Dudley, School House, Eardington, Bridgenorth and working as a Auctioneers Clerk. In 1881 Census he was again staying with his parents, in School House, Llanyblodwel,Montgomeryshire and working as a Collery Clerk. You have probably guessed by now his parents were School Teachers.
