Remembrance in SwanseaAll those who fought and fell in war will be remembered in Swansea this week.At 11am on Friday, November 11th, Armistice Day, a ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph where Lord Mayor of Swansea Mair Gibbs will lay a wreath and the "Last Post" played.In attendance will be the Lord Mayor of Swansea Mair Gibbs, the Lord Lieutenant Commodore Robert Hastie, the High Sheriff, President of the Swansea Branch of the Royal British Legion Colonel TL Prior and Chairman Con Fehrman.The Lord Lieutenant will then lay a wreath at the Boer War memorial.Everyone is welcome to attend the Swansea Festival of Remembrance taking place at the Brangwyn Hall on Saturday evening. Doors open at 6.30pm and the service is free, although donations will be welcome.The Remembrance Sunday Parade will begin at 2pm on the Kingsway, ending up in St Mary's Church. Veterans of various regiments and squadrons will take part in the parade, which usually ends at a packed church.
