ARCIERO/MACKIE of Redhall Kirkpatrick Fleming
« on: Sunday 25 January 04 11:49 GMT (UK) »
The following is being posted for someone who does not have access to the internet. The details below are all that I have been given, and are all that are known.

Seeking ANY details of Rose ARCIERO who was born 17th Feb 1910 in France, the daughter of Antonio ARCIERO who was an Italian.  Antonio ARCIERO was an Ice Cream merchant, who ended up in Edinburgh.

Rose was brought up in the Catholic faith and her mothers name is unknown. Rose might also have been bought out of wedlock.

Rose left France about 1914-1915 and was brought to the UK, it is not known by whom. Rose remained the rest of her life in the UK and is now deceased.Antonio and Rose did not see each other again, after she was brought to the UK. Rose did pass on her to descendants that she remembered being taken to a small farmhouse called REDHALL which is/at Kirkpatrick Fleming (near Gretna) in Dumfresshire Scotland. Rose lived with the MACKIE family at the cottage until she was 18 years old.

Rose had one earlier memory and that was of living in a terrace cottage in France and there was a big wooden gate.

Any suggestions or assistance greatly appreicated.

Regards,
Julie

Hi Julie

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Sorry to be solate in getting back.  I was born at Kirkpatrick Fleming and knew the Mackie family from Redhouse John Mackie and his two sisters none of them married and are all buried or commemorated in the churchyard at Kirkpatrick Fleming.  My father was a lifelong friend of theirs.  Smooth, elegant and attractive ladies who had the choice of too many suitors and in the end did not have any.
There is also a farm at Redhall bbut I can't remember who was there.  In any event I have no recollection of anyone called Arciero so this all may not help.
