William Davidson b 1856 Edinburgh

I am searching for info on my Husband's Great Grandfather William davidson

William was born 5 Aug 1856 at 28 Dean Street, Edinburgh to Willaim Davidson and Elizabeth Rankine. He was the middle child - John davidson Davidson (no typo) b 1848 and George Rankine Davidson b 1861

We know he ended up in India as he had 3 sons in Sholapur, India. The sons were:

Robert George Davidson was born 28 Oct 1892 and married Florence Leonara Hutchinson Lopez in Yamethin, Burma in 1919

William Hugh Davidson was born 7 Jul 1887 and he married Adelaide Genevieve Hutchinson Lopez - the sister of Florence - in 1915.

James Davidson was born in May 1890 but died in 1894


The main info I am trying to find is:

1. The marriage of Elizabeth Rankine and William Davidson and ages
2. The possible marriage of William 1856 and his wife's name - it could be Isabel according to old relatives
3. When he may have gone over to India and why
4. Where could we find the birth info for the 3 sons

If anyone could help me with these questions or find info on them I would be really grateful

Saint Cuthberts Edinburgh.

Elizabeths Father is George Rankine.
