Shoe shop on Seaview Road Eastbourne
« on: Monday 06 March 06 06:54 GMT (UK) »
This is a long shot...but I am looking for any information anyone may have regarding a shoe shop that existed on Seaview Road in Eastbourne in the late 1940s.  It is a fragment of a memory from my father that I am hoping to be able to explore.  He remembers being fitted for shoes there by an Uncle of his and I was hoping someone might be able to shed some/any light on the existence of this shop and who the owners might have been.

MANY thanks

Best regards
Darren

Darren

Seaside Road in Eastbourne is a very long road and has a lot of shops on it.

It would help if we knew what the name of his Uncle was in order to see if there are any shops in his surname.

Any other information would be a bonus

Hi Darren,

A bit of info that might be of help........

There is one shoe shop in Seaside Road, which could have been there
many many years, 78 Seaside Road, called Leaf Hall Shoes - there is
also another really old shoe shop in Cavendish Place, which crosses
across Seaside Road, called Perry Williams & Sons, 112 Cavendish Place.

I could go and take photos and send them by email if that would help?

cheers
Sandra ;)

Hi Sandra - thanks for the infrormation and offer of help.

Based on your note my Dad has recalled that the Shoe Shop was in Seaside road on the left hand side going towards town, and that the Leaf Hall shoe shop is in seaside road but about 1 mile up the road.

Don't know if that helps.

Regards
Darren
