I'm not researching the Danks family - but I have come across one in my family searches - thought it may be of interest to you:

Florence Danks (30) marr. Cyril Frank Thursfield (31) (widower) Jan 17 1920, Parish Church, Netherton, Dudley. Florence's father was William Danks, a labourer; her residence at time of marr. was 9 Cinder Bank, Dudley. witnesses William & Elsie Danks.

I am not researching Danks but they seem to keep cropping up in my Hartshorn research:

1851 Census for St. James Terrace, St. James, Dudley.

Thomas Danks/Head/M/34/Iron stone miner/Dudley, Worcs.
Sophia Danks/Wife/M/35/Dudley
Mary A. Danks/Dau/12/Scholar/Dudley
Henry Oakley/Head/M/26/Lime stone miner/Dudley
Ann Oakley/Wife/M/21/Shipston, Worcs.
Josiah Oakley/Son/1/Dudley

Although these look to be separate families they are listed as being in the same household.

1881 Census for 18 Salop Street, Dudley.  RG11/2875/54 page 31.

Hi Jill I think your Danks are a different family/Branch to mine.I have the 1851 census also but for Worcestershire, St Thomas. Cheapside Old dock. Most of my Danks seem to have been glass makers or school teachers.
