I've had a look at the 1871 census
Searched for Henry Fieldhouse born 1847 give or take 5 years in Staffs.

Only one entry comes up ...

Stoke on Trent Longton
Henry Fieldhouse head mar 23 Grocer born Longton
Living with Mary Anne, Arthur & Mary.

I don't know enough about the area to know if this is a possibility?  Let me know if you want more details - Vanda (Isle of Wight)
