Keith and Denn,

Thank you both..the cost is little compared to the joy it may bring....this set up of mine will make "pics fer pennies" as they say..and as for the scanning that is just time..and I have lots of that.

Regards

Harry

Buff,

Scan and print at as high a resolution as you can.

For most "home" printers a final version at say 300 DPI should be enough for most purposes..but sometimes I will go as high as 3200 if is a negative (35mm) and I want a print at say A3 (or 12 *18 inches).

Hope that helps

Harry

Buff,
       Have a look here,
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,138845.0.html
It may help as far as scanning is concerned. As for printing the golden rule (mine at least) is absolute minimum of 150dpi preferably 250dpi or more. Remember that scanning/printing can get as complex as you want it to, but these few basic rules will get you where you wantto be.

That's a very generous offer Harry, where were you when I needed to get a photo up on the board??   My scanner seems to have a mind of it's own and plays silly beggars with me whenever I switch it on . . .. .  .  Naughty scanner.       :(
