Chapel Chorlton

My great grandfather, John Thompson was born in 1861. From the birth certificate, it would appear that his parents, James Thompson (agricultural labourer) and Mary Thompson nee Whittingham were living at Chapel Chorlton.

Is there anyone who could help with further information on these people?
