Can anyone find a GRO index for the birth of John Smith born 13th April 1876 in Cullercoats Northumberland .  Parents are Thomas and Sarah Smith.  I need gro index to order birth certificate to check Sarahs maiden name.  Thanks

As Cullercoats registers in Tynemouth it must be this one

Sorry Tricia I should have said baptism was 2nd July 1876 can you find another one.  Yes your right it probably would be Tynemouth.

You are confusing me a bit. It will be his birth which is registered not his baptism. Have you got the birthdate correct?

It is a baptism certificate that I have which says he was born April 13th 1876 and baptised July 2nd 1876 born Cullercoats which I would think is district Tynemouth and mother and father Thomas and Sarah.  It is her that I am going to trace so need her surname which I will get from a birth certificate.  Sorry to confuse you.  Jessy
